I went for a surprise birthday party today. It was really fun. I can’t remember the last time I did a surprise birthday party….. must’ve been a few years, at least. Anyway, it’s my cell pastor’s birthday, and the whole bunch of us sneaked by the back gate and hid in bedrooms waiting for the cue. Then i ate dinner there, which was made up of a large amount of cheezels, twisties, yeow char koay, assorted snacks and a lot of pop. I’m on sugar-high now. I blog only on sugar highs. Or sugar lows?
I sent off an application for a job with Tokuii, an Australian company. I have a friend working there, and they build products based on Java/Hibernate, which is what I’ve been using the past few months. The post is for senior software engineer, so I’m kind of pushing the tab a little, but I’d like a challenge and I feel it’s probably good to start someplace where I can grow and learn, rather than get hired for a position where I’ve got ALL the skills and ALL the experience. I don’t know if I did a rash thing, and I am doing okay at my current job… but I guess I’d like to expand and explore as well… we’ll see.
