Café Melissé (or is it Melisé?)

There’s a new eatery near the Atria shopping complex, in Damansara Jaya, PJ. It’s owned by a friend of Lee Lian’s mom, or at least an acquaintance – folks who attend the same church as we do. It’s kind of a new concept… a walk in cafeteria-style restaurant featuring gourmet western food. Common offerings are assorted stews of different meats (which includes pork)… and casseroles like the potato kind, cauliflower/brocolli mix for greens, and pasta. They also have an ala carte menu. I hear the steaks are good.
They also serve Coppelia ice cream from Cuba, which is now being produced in Malaysia. Its texture almost matches that of Häagen-Dazs, with flavors such as caramel and caramel bon bon (which stands for ‘chocolate’) besides the regular ones. Yum.
The owners are an excited bunch and enjoy chatting up the customers just a bit. Clean, friendly atmosphere. No frills dining. Good food, with that kind of healthy edge… no msg/ajinomoto and the cook seems to place importance on sugar count, i overheard him say.
To get there, exit the LDP at the Damansara Jaya exit, and head towards the small commercial area, where Atria is. The shop should be a few doors away from the RHB bank, on the side where the Domino’s pizza and Koon Kee restaurant is.
Anyway, Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!
