just because you’ve done it so many times doesn’t make you an expert
People who have met me know that I have some funk going on with my skin, which is mostly known to people as rash or eczema or even dermatitis to some, more learned ones. It used to be a lot worse and it’s hard to be objective about measuring one’s health when it’s being taken for granted… especially if you’ve never lived your life apart from the problem.
Looking at the mirror when I’m not aware of myself helps. So I find myself scratching a lot and picking at my skin. Stubbornly, I paid less heed to advice from an otherwise reputable source.
People used to ask me if I’ve seen acquired consultation from physicians, and I tell them that there’s hardly any point to it since most of them prescribe the same medicines every time. And since my dad is a pharmacist, I tend to prefer not making trips to the doctor for medication.
But anyway, I decided to seek help for one particular patch of rash that I have on my arm. Stubbornly, it refuses to heal and is constantly blistering under unsupervision, which can be quite frustrating since it’s hard to take for granted. Oh well, like master, like skin.
It turns out to be true that bacterial infection was the cause and I did require antibiotics and topical ones won’t work. And it turns out that bursting the blisters makes things worse, and reducing the itch helps even though it takes more effort to maintain a higher dermatic comfort level.
It’s a good thing that it does get better, though. So, i’m due for some correction.
