christ song mass

This is the advent season, and since I’ve not been on Orchard Road this time, I feel less attacked by the festive season. It gives me a moment to live the life, and truly embrace the goodness and grace and wonder of the miracle that happened two thousand years ago.

Mary’s Boy Child, Jesus Christ

was born on Christmas day

I was going to write a bit about the virgin birth of Christ, and when I read various articles on the internet, I decided not to add to the already fiery discourse. So, believe it or don’t… I choose to celebrate his virgin birth. This is Christmas.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,

And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

And not just any birth, but the birth of a king. A king of what? Pretty much everything. But more importantly, a king who could only reconcile us back to him by surrendering himself as a perfect sacrifice.

Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out

there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted

“let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace”.

Christmas is bittersweet. His birth was admist trying times, where the goverment was seeking to kill him. Mary’s birth-giving before marraige would be customarily misunderstood. Who would have thought the Son of God would enter this way?

But he came to fulfill all that was spoken of him, and so we remind our brethren to celebrate that God’s kingdom is here, and invite all who want to know who this God is to come and join us.
