settling down requires a lot of work

we’re back from our honeymoon in east malaysia and extended honeymoon in singapore. now, we have the ardous task in front of us commonly known as ‘settling down’. after managing to survive 1 year of preparation, 2 nights of celebration, 5 days of vacationing, and 4 days of shopping,.. we’re finally return home to face the cleanup job. our room, which was previously my room, was littered with wedding gifts, lee lian’s clothes and assorted belongings, and other stuff that didn’t have a quite have a place of their own. a trip to ikea kind of helped that out a little, with a toiletry tray, some boxes and shelving type stuff, a new shower curtain to add some life to the attached bathroom, and a towel rack for added privacy so that we didn’t have to hang our towels outside our bedroom. this was when we both found out i’m a bit of a neat freak. a little more than my wife, which kind of scares me. she’s into cleaning stuff. i’m into tidying. works out well, i think. she’s tucked herself into bed, exhausted from the day. tomorrow, we have more things to do… sigh.
thanks, everyone… for your support, love, encouragement, photos, and even tears. it’s a well-celebrated event, and everyone was part of it. or at least, that was how we wanted it to be.
truly, god was gracious throughout everything… you just gotta know a good thing happened when you have memories to keep, that things are happy and not sour when you look back at it, that everyone extends you grace and well wishes from their hearts and no one felt they lost anything, but gained something, even though they gave themselves into making this whole thing work.
i hope everyone had something special to take from the wedding, especially the memories.
