my excuse for not blogging was that blogger was so…

my excuse for not blogging was that blogger was so slow to a crawl, and that i was totally unorganized in thought and pen (keyboard?). i generally make up excuses for every few reasons i give myself. does it really have to be a gooood blog? well, it doesn’t have to be a bad one. i just am a bit of a perfectionist at times, and i’m ashamed of that. because erm…. there’s not much that i’ve done that’s really perfect, so being a perfectionist just turns out to be an ego thing.
sure, i have tons of things to say. they’re just in portions that i haven’t been able to organize. for one, i’ve begun to get into something called podcasting. pod from the ipod, cast from broadcast as in radio. it’s a growing phenomenon, and i’ve specifically been listening to ‘a different perspective’ from alan hartung. he’s a christian who talks about hot button issues, and some of the stuff has been quite insightful and helpful in my walk.
i often really get skeptical about ‘christian’ articles and discussion that don’t really have the kind of heart that reflects who God really is. it’s already bad enough that christians are seem to be commonly labelled as hypocrites and fanatics who should just keep quiet and maintain their religion within church walls. and it’s really a bad thing to not to have thought out properly the things said about god and about oneself.
it’s a challenge, though necessary, for christians to speak on hot-button issues, because it’s clearly pertinent to what God cares for (which is just about everything). but there’s a deeper sense of responsibility that we carry, because we have to love our neighbor, i.e. everyone.
so, that’s been on my mind a bit. i often try to keep my blogs short, because well…. i feel that most people don’t read long blogs. and i want people to read my blogs, so i try to keep them short. or shorter. the information age has reduced the effort of reading to skimming to glancing. we don’t have time for anything else.
speaking of that, i found an interesting website called adbusters, that advocates a ‘green’ economy and strong ethical foundations for governance, businesses and lifestyles. they’re not christian, by the way. they just have a heart for humanity. and in these tremulous times, their voices speak much clearer.
