rusted screw conspiracy

I went to SS2 today looking to buy some new screws for my car license plate, because the old ones were rusting. Initially I was quite annoyed that the car company gave me such lousy screws, which rusted within a few months.
So I tried to look for some fancy screws that weren’t the rusty type but I couldn’t find them from hardware stores, car accessory shops and finally today, car license plate makers.
I went into the shop and one of the guys directed me to the back of the shop, where this spectacled guy was busy sawing plastic off a license plate. I asked him if he had screws for the back of the license plate, and he said “how many?”, so for a moment there I was quite happy (because everyone else turned me down)… and said “two”.
Me: I need ones that don’t rust
Spectacled guy: We don’t have those
Me: You mean all the screws rust?
Spectacled guy: Yes.
Me: O…kay…
I walked off, and I think I’ll just have to find some other way to get rid of the rust problem. Spray paint my screws black or something. They must think that rusted screws are the only way to go.
