Guitar Workshop reminder

I’m putting this here because I don’t like to keep things around that I don’t need, collecting dust unnecessarily.
These are from the notes I got at a chrisitan guitar workshop I attended recently.
Right hand technique:
- alternate picking
- wrist movement (not arm)
Left hand technique
- hold guitar higher. When standing, guitar should be at a position where we usually practice at.
Legato picking – quite complex. Electric guitar technique.
Practicing scales – use metronome
Effective rhythm playing
- create texture, not overly complex.
- open chord concept
- slash chords (alt. bass) and piano style approach (mimic piano style chords, rhythms)
- using effects with electric guitar to create different sounds. e.g. delay, etc.
Electric guitar distortion
- avoid setting gain to max. Minimize when playing in a band to avoid feedback.
- then set volume higher.
Free worship setting
- stick to contemporary chord transitions suitable for worship.
- Learn to begin, play the middle, and end.
- drum and bass has to work closely together.
