Back from the reef

I am finally back after 4 days of sun and surf. My head is still spinning from the dives and boat ride and long journey home. I’ve turned a shade darker, and my ears are inflamed on the inside due to hard equalization under the water.

I enjoyed every minute of it. Granted, I did not see as many pelagics as I had wanted, but the beautiful reef and fun-as-ever fast current dive spots continued to serve as a testament to the islands’ popularity amongst experienced divers.

Yay, I saw 5 different kinds of nudibranch (go here and search for “nudibranch” category) that I have never seen before. I went for a night/wreck dive that was really fun (got to see sleeping fish, dazed by the glare of our diving flashlights), and company was really great. We all had a good time.

It’s really too bad I don’t have an underwater camera, to record memories of the reef. They’re not cheap, either. And neither is diving, in general.

But it’s worth it, just being able to see the wonders beneath the sea. And my next trip will include pelagics, I hope.
