making a move

By next week, my office address zip code will start with 6 instead of 5. Contrary to popular beliefs, Malaysia does have a desert indeed. It’s called Cyberjaya.
It spans 29 km² (11 mi²) and had an occupancy rate of about a few thousand oil palm trees. They have since been ‘relocated’ in the name of development, causing a spike in the humidity levels. So much so that we were praying for floods to come visit that place.
Over in the administrative capital of Putrajaya sits a gigantic man-made lake. I have no idea how the water stays there and doesn’t just evaporate in a week.
But the airconditioning at our new office seems to have enough punch, though they shut it down at 6pm. All the lots face nicely landscaped gardens to compliment the high rental rates and urban infrastructure (but where are the public parking lots!?).
To get there costs me RM5 (gas and tolls). To get back costs me another RM5. I really have to get those shock absorbers upgraded, because the highway only looks flat. It doesn’t feel flat.
Oh well. If anyone can recommend me a good place to eat, please let me know. Good as in cheap and not like the stupid foodcourt near the Shell building. I’m glad that I actually do know some people who work in the desert. At least I have someone to call if I get stranded for days without food and no hope of an oasis.
