ikea catalog 2006

Traditionally, just after every Ikea annual sale, comes the announcement of the next year’s IKEA catalog.
It’s common knowledge these days that the catalogs are freely distributed to homes across town and it’s one of those ‘ad-type’ stuff in the mail that you never feel bad about receiving.
In fact last year, I was getting a bit anxious about why I wasn’t getting my copy of last year’s catalog. They told me that they actually pick out a part of town where they go around stuffing those catalogs into people’s mailboxes, and that they probably haven’t reached my area yet. I couldn’t wait, so I went and grabbed my (then) fiance’s one.
I think even if you hate Ikea to the bones, you can easily vouch for the usefulness of the catalogs. It provides good scrap paper for household projects, makes good dining conversation, goes well next to your favourite magazine or journal… the list goes on.
I certainly like the ideas I get from browsing through the pages… again, and again… ok maybe not everyone does that.
But I keep finding out new ways of improving my home. That’s when the catalog really gets to me. It makes me wanna buy furniture! arghh…..
Anyway, I haven’t received mine just yet. I’m a wuss, and I’ll be going to Ikea tomorrow under the guise of buying some photo frames… can’t be sure if they’ve started distributing the catalogs from the counters. They usually wait till it’s done circulating through the neighborhoods.
Oh well.
