Letters from the Equator

Boon’s view from here

hanging on a thread

why does the week end so early?

or…… why the weekend, so early?

it’s one of those days where i just feel like not capitalizing the first letter of my sentences. my first cup of coffee in three days. a huge set of documents just sent out to the boss, for his weekend review and bedside reading compliment… i am just worn out by work and play.

i’ll work backwards. yesterday’s culinary experience of taman mayang’s famed fatty’s sour-salty crab (of apparently singular variety) left a blister on my lip. it was the size of a peanut. it has subsided since 8pm last night, but i can still taste the juices oozing out of my lip glands. do lips have glands?

i’ve managed to make enough sales of skin oils to pay for my transit fares between PJ and Cyberjaya (yes, the desert). in between the office, meeting up with customers and home, i’ve been rediscovering the joy of driving my car, despite annoyances from the rear suspension and tyres… i think. yesterday, it took me 20 minutes to get back from EB3 to SS2. scary, but true. and the lack of cars.

i’ve been rediscovering my new aural meat: the new pornographers! i’m tempted to bring in the SHE9500s from home to the office for added effect, but the earphones just look so brittle (and feels it)… i tire to battle in my mind imagining mistakes i make in handling it. nevertheless, they sound better on the home box.

surprisingly, i haven’t been listening to much in the car. um, apart from conversations. i’ve just been so worn out that i haven’t been downloading anything new. i need to clear off space from my drives before i can (should) download any more. i’m planning to get a DVD burner, but that requires money. actually, it requires a good budget, then money. money won’t come until i save. it has to come from somewhere, like a reimbursement from the company for taking a java certification exam, which i haven’t studied for… because i didn’t have time.

what’s been keeping me busy? the skin oil sales, for one. spending time with lee lian. helping my parents out with various techie stuff. the printer went down. so did the router, at one point. i stayed up last night preparing for tonight’s worship. tomorrow morning is all booked for server repairs at my dad’s office, followed by a lunch appointment with Helen and company, then another skin oil delivery, then guitar lessons for the kids at church, then a BBQ housewarming dinner at a friend’s.

i’ve hardly had time to blog. although…… i DID start a new blog last weekend. it’s got two posts. all about interiors, living, homes, and my odd ikea fetish….

my wife’s settling in nicely with her new job. well, i guess nicely is an overstatement. she’s *coping* with some variables. and excited about others. it’s refreshing on one hand, since the days of stuffy bank management complaints. :) i just try to support her, as sky’s the limit. we’ll get through the challenges together, God willing.

here’s a thought. what has Christ not done for me that he has already accomplished on the cross? I reflected on rom8:37 and his death and victorious ressurection. he has forgiven all sin, promised the greatest love, and speaks peace to all my circumstances. i just love what one of the disciples said to the lame beggar sitting outside the temple courts… “silver and gold i have none, but what i have, i give to you. in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk!”.

such is the life that Christ gives me.
