tired

I wanna take a break for a few days. I’m just counting the number of days until a whole load of stuff is over. Thank God the raya holidays are coming. I need to finish studying for the SCJP exam, and get into some personal projects that i’ve been delaying.

We’ve changed our study material on friday nights. We’re doing a discussion on the life of elijah now, which i think is pretty cool. I guess it’s not as in-depth in the word, but I feel that we’ve been through enough of the word to begin talking about how the word affects our lives. The only problem is getting the younger ones to talk.

And just recently, I have been trying to eat less. I feel my stomach actually beginning to shrink as a result. I have a belly and it bothers me because it itches at the part where it creases. And I don’t like to sweat very much. So much unhealthy living.

Anyway, if you are in the Klang Valley and you feel like having some authentic Thai food, you should check out Baan Khun Li at “The Place” in Damansara Perdana. It’s actually pretty good, though the servings are small.

The tom yum is really good. The steamed fish in thai sauce is good also. The green curry isn’t bad. The massaman beef was good, although the serving was too small. I like the pad sip eu, even though it’s a bit oily. I can’t tell the difference between good pad thai and bad pad thai, but I thought the one that I had tasted good.

And the food is pretty consistent, as I’ve been there 3 times already. Not like the nonya restaurant at 1 Utama new wing top floor. Don’t worry about how ‘authentic’ the thai food is. Even some of the waiters have problem understanding english. They’re like, really from thailand wan. Halal some more….. erm… not that it affects me.

If you also want some coffee and relaxation after that, head over to the Friendster Cafe just down the road from The Place. It has no affiliations to the Friendster website, apart from the blatant use of its popular trademark. Even the logo looks like a Starbucks ripoff. They even have drinks called Friendstercinos.

Things I’ve learnt this week:

  • God doesn’t provide you money like, put money in your hands (or at least, most of the time, He doesn’t). He creates openings and opportunities for you and shows you how to earn money.
  • Horsepower vs. Torque
  • In Java, a floating point divide-by-zero is not the same as an integer divide-by-zero

New things in my life:

  • HP Laserjet 1020
  • shrinking stomach
  • accoustic guitar stand

Other miscellaneous things:
Happy Birthday Warren!
Happy Birthday Mavis!
Happy Birthday Abby!

Next month will be the month of weddings.

Lee Lian sort of wants a rabbit.

I want a break.
