Letters from the Equator

8 years ago, I chose to follow Christ not because it made the most sense, nor because it suited my Western-influenced culture, nor because the girl I fell in love with was a Christian, nor because the Christians were friendly, nor because of the cool factor and liberal advantages of certain evangelical lifestyles.

I chose to follow Christ because of Christ himself. He was a person madly in love with me to the point of death. I have not known of another God since.

And I would not have come, lest he called me to himself. Otherwise, how would I approach God? Alas, he called me, and called me and searched for me, and never gave up on me.

And to this day, while man is in his glory, God is so much more.

So I fall in love with Christ, again.
