Boon’s view from here

restaurants should NOT charge for water

Du Viet vietnamese restaurant in Damansara Jaya does not serve water. My sister was told that “it was not on the menu”, but they would “make an exception”. Later on, she found on her receipt that she was charged RM0.80 for some food she did not order, which was actually the charge for the glass of water.

I know it’s not easy to earn a living in Malaysia, and it’s not easy to run a decent business either, but some mid-range restaurants treat customers like mamak shop vendors. A glass of water, for goodness’ sake. Where’s the decency?!

If you can get me a list of mid-range restaurants you know that charge for a normal glass of water, I will gladly put it in a list and forward it across the nation and post it up on a website for everyone to see.
