Surviving the holidays

Stressed???

The long weekend has just begun. 5 days of non-office days, but unlike some other people, I have tons of stuff to do. A 2007 calendar, finishing up my assignments on the prototype our team is working on, a web OAM for a voip product, and editing my parent’s psyllium husk product label. To top it all off, I registered myself for a Java 5 exam on Monday, and I heard it’s not easy.

But I can pull it off. I think.

Q4

It’s going to be a really crazy ride all the way towards the end of the year. I’m scheduled to go to the UK in mid-November with some of my colleagues. I’m bringing Lee Lian with me, with the hopes that it’ll be more enjoyable with a larger company. I’ll be taking a week off after I get work done there for some London sightseeing, but that’s about it.

When I get back, we’ll have no more than 2 weeks to prep for the Christmas choir. I’ve certainly been less involved this year due to my crazy schedule and travelling. But the good thing is that we’re able to practice off-sessions using the trainer audio CD… which I listen to in my car.

The Car

I just got done with 400km and a full tank of gas, and I’ve managed a measly 9km/l after much spirited driving and getting used to know the clutch and gas pedal better.

By this time, I’m starting to notice a few things that needs work on:
1. small crack at dashboard - meter area
2. missing gas cover rubber thing
3. sun visor flap
4. leather seat cleaning (should be done with RM70)
5. upgrade head unit (or take the one from the Kelisa)
6. move subwoofer from Kelisa
7. add amp for front speakers (I have one sitting in my room)
8. rear wiper motor
9. faded gear knob
10. faded insignia (front triangle and rear)
12. floormats

Some nice to haves:
1. rear silencer upgrade
2. upgrade rims for better handling

The car handles very smoothly, and so is the transmission. It feels as though Malaysian roads were built so well, which is not true. And I absolutely love the leather seats.
