We’ve begun the first steps to move into our new place. Not Flora, but to Subang Jaya. My parents purchased a unit at the Boulevard, which is close to Holiday Villa, just down the road from SJMC.

It’s a much nicer place, with a nice pool and a decent gym, and more floor space in every room. The only thing I’ll have to get used to is the traffic.

We’ve started packing stuff into boxes (our non-immediate belongings), and moved them over (thanks to WL for helping out). Today, I applied for the phone line and streamyx connections. That’ll take a week or two.

We took a look at an LG washer + dryer combo… so much for all that korean-made-sucks stuff I used to herald. The fridge will end up being japanese (Toshiba), though… and a pretty large fridge too. The dishwasher will have to come later (grin).

The next things to do are to arrange for electrical extensions and to get new paints. I’m trying to go for an earthy, clean tone. I don’t know if I’ll be successful, haha… we’ll see. Jotun paints seem to be the top choice, for now. Good balance of price and convenience (their colour advisor thingy). And it’s from Scandinavia.

I’m actually worried about the financing bit… every new step to deal with big ticket items is a lesson for me. I need to read up on cash flow and budgeting and planning my purchases, or I forsee big problems in the future.
