the past week - end of the beginning of March
I’ll try to depart from my commonly existential postings.
Last week, I don’t remember what happened, except a few things. For one, I sent my bicycle for servicing on Friday, because I intend to pick up the hobby with some friends of mine. The bike is more than 10 years old, but is still good to ride, and I hope to see more years with it. I upgraded the parts a few years ago, when I first got back from the US, but it didn’t see much action because of traffic conditions and lack of company.
The other thing was the second session of Elijah House, which is a prayer, counseling and healing ministry, currently being hosted at my church. I have been struggling with a few things in my life, and have been waiting to go through this course for awhile. Exploring events and memories of the past can be a painful thing, especially when I realize so much of my personality, character, and principles were shaped mainly in the first 12 years of my life.
I’m also preparing for a certification exam in project management, and there was some good news I have to refrain from sharing in too much detail, but I was quite pleased. April will be a brain drain month - with me hitting the books. Ugh.
More on the bright side, my collegiate basketball team, the Kansas Jayhawks, have won the Big-12 title, and is currently the no. 2 seed for the national title, just before Ohio State. In their last game, they managed to beat Texas during overtime to win 88 to 84, despite a stellar performance by Texas freshman Kevin Durant. The Jayhawks have been particularly well balanced and steadfast in this season, and I hope that they’ll win the national title this year, after screw ups in the past few ones.
And although I say it like I watch sports a lot, I don’t.
On Sunday, we were over at a friend’s apartment, and played with their spanking new Wii. And my hands and arms hurt after Wii Sports and Rayman. That thing can really make you sweat! After some compulsion, I decided not to put it on my shopping wishlist.
What I did scratch off my shopping wishlist was a Sebring exhaust back box for my 146. I’m still having afterthoughts, but hopefully they’ll go away.
Also, my mechanic fixed a new sun visor flap for my passenger side, and two rear light bulbs were replaced. Yay!
The photo for today’s entry is to signify a brighter mid-March, expecting better times after that through April and towards the end of the year. Sometimes you have to do things like that to get out of a depressive state.
