Creative stuff

I used to want to be a graphic designer. In fact, after my SAM (south australian matriculation), I attempted to enroll in graphics design as my 3rd choice, after architecture and computer science.
In the end, I decided to stick with computers for some odd reason. Hence my life now as a software developer.
I guess I never did let go of pursuing a creative career. And now I guess I’m kind of in the middle. I’m employing creativity in many ways in my work, though that mostly involves web development and software architecture and development best practices.
This mainly has to do with the fact that my work involves developing service prototypes, and the services have to have a considerable element of fun and usability in it.
My team and I get to think up wild and zany ideas about what we can do about the network. And that uses a lot of creativity, at times.
But I think it’s hard nowadays not to experience convergent themes and domains in our life. Camera phones are just the beginning. I pretty much have to force myself out of THAT box, which means I have to go even further beyond traditional boundaries of innovation.
So, yay. I’m finally getting to do what I love to do most.
