Letters from the Equator

Boon’s view from here

I bought more stuff from IKEA

I received some cash the other day from claims that I made a month ago, so I decided to spend it on the apartment.

Our footwear have been in a semi-disorganized state ever since we moved in, and we bought a coat hanger and a hanging organizer to make into a sort of shoe rack type of thing.

We’ll install this thing near the entrance, where there’s this little area that you can sort of hide yourself in. The red paint we have that’s still unused should help create some kind of cosy feel to it.

My wife bought a moving drawer unit for her stationery and files. She doesn’t like the hassle of moving things in and out, so we thought a mobile organizer should help alleviate some of that burden.

Then, we bought a silver mesh wastepaper basket for RM8, cos the original price was RM25 and we couldn’t figure why the black one was RM25 and the silver was RM8.

We also bought a side-table for the hall, to put our phone on. Right now the phone sits on a pile of books in the living room. The side table only cost RM169, and it’s a lovely side table. I would imagine something like that outside might cost us double or more.

On the other hand, I can’t imagine myself continually spending RM169 on side tables which I seem to keep wanting, cos the apartment looks so empty. So, I’m torn. I’ll have to be more patient, I guess. As time goes by, things will begin to take shape.

It’s just a little frustrating that I can’t spend the time to do up the apartment now cos I have an exam coming up in 2 weeks.

Actually, I’m not supposed to be blogging, but I’m totally not motivated to study at all. :(
I still want carpets and more shelves.
