Club Quarters, Trafalgar Square

Good Night!

I just got upgraded to an executive room for free! Apparently, my extremely late check in (almost 12am) was a timely arrival for an open slot for this corporate teaser.

The room is much bigger and has more stuff in it - microwave, plasma TV, a proper coffee maker (filter type), a sofa, 2 cushy office seats, and a small kitchen area.

I’m not gonna use much of them, of course,… but it was welcoming after having a disastrous day of wandering off course from our journey back from Ipswich one time too many.

Club Quarters is a member-only (I think) corporate-type hotel at major city locations in New York, New York, and London, where I am now. I’ve stayed at the St. Paul’s location the past few times, but this is the first time I’m checking into the Trafalgar Square location.

It’s really much more posh, due to the fact that it’s located in a very historic and glitzy spot in town. Outside, throngs of young drunks crawling out of clubs and pubs are on their way home. I’m pretty much in the middle of Piccadilly and Covent Garden… so the whole place is a scene, downstairs.

But I can barely tell from my 9th floor room. I was afraid the occasional blare of sirens would be a general disturbance but I haven’t yet heard the faintest wail.

It’s a pity I have to check out tomorrow.
