Helper blog reads: careers

I’ve been mildly addicted to the Brazen Careerist blog, by Penelope Trunk. There’s a lot of useful tips on how one navigates their way through life and work in the 21st century.

It’s funny that her studies and observations and applications are based mainly on the US job market (where I’m not), but very useful and relevant to my own context, perhaps partially due to the fact that I work for an MNC and have a tech job.

She also writes heavily for Gen-X and Gen-Y audiences, which is right about where I am. It helps me at times when I’m so frustrated at work and have no clue where to go.

I really admire a lot of the risk taking that many of these types of people go through in order to secure something they truly believe in. I too, must have that same drive.

It will take hard work, determination, sweat and tears, but it’s rewarding and satisfying, and there’s a story to tell at the end of it all.
