Brazillian Churrascaria - Damansara Jaya

ES, MVO, WL, LL and I finally got around to having a meal at “Carnaval”, which serves Brazillian Churrascaria in my humble hometown of Damansara Jaya.

ES had a craving for it a few weeks now, and we decided to all hop on an opportunity for some good chow. I’m delighted that the standard hasn’t dropped, and that they still serve the same wonderful meats, with some interesting additions, namely the cream cheese bread.

There was the usual selection of rump steak, garlic beef, bbq chicken, turkey ham, curried fish and chicken gizzard. I absolutely loved the turkey ham, which goes especially well with the pineapple.

I need to start taking pictures more. The blog is suffering from a lack of photos of my outings and stuff… mostly because I’m lazy to organize my digital media, and my laptop will be going through a reformat soon and have some special software installed in order to better comply with the company’s global IT policies.

This is partly why I’m really considering getting a mac mini for storage and playback, and to hook it up to a nice telly. My recent trips to Harvey Norman and such reveals that standard 32″ LCD screens go for RM3-4k and above. That’s going to hurt.

For that reason, I’m going to park this and save up some money first. There are other more important things which need attending to.

Anyway, after our dinner we went to DU at the newly converted business strip called DU 33 or something. We hung out at the Starbucks till about 11pm, chatting about random stuff as we usually do.

After some crazy months of events, projects, and showcases, I just had to wind down a little and relax. Thank God for friends.

  1. Have you been to the Brazilian churrasco chain Fogo de Chao? They just opened one in Minneapolis and it’s been a hit.

  2. Actually I haven’t been to much of Minneapolis except for the airport. I must say that the folks at the MN airport are friendlier than the folks at Detroit (I used to fly Northwest a lot).

  3. Detroit is horrible, Chicago O’Hare isn’t much better. There are Fogo de Chao (http://www.fogodechao.com/) restaurants in many major US cities as well. I think you’d enjoy it.

  4. I kinda liked O’Hare… but then, I also like Chicago. Well, I like the whole Midwest, in general.

  5. O’Hare is always under construction. I used to travel to Chicago often for work. But I recently had the opportunity to visit for fun over the 4th of July and had a fun time doing the “touristy” things. I think you’d enjoy Minneapolis if you ever get the chance to come visit.
