Photo outing

I’ve been having much fun with my new SLR lately.
ES and I went to Putrajaya last week and took some pictures of buildings and bridges. Then, this week, we went to Lake Gardens and the National Monument. Not to mention I’ve been taking photos of random stuff in the office too.
I used to play with my dad’s old Nikon FM half a decade ago, so I’ve gotten the hang of managing shutter speeds and apertures. So now I’ve got to learn to get exposures right, max out the capabilities of the lenses, and try looking at things differently.
All the images I posted here have been post-processed, since I’m now shooting my images at RAW, thanks to ES’ suggestion. The histogram is a handy thing, and I was afraid that it would be too difficult to understand how to read it properly. The best place to learn how to read a histogram is here:

Right now, my focus is mainly on reproducing vivid and imaginative photos. So, it’s all about getting the right color, depth of field, and tone (shadows, highlights, and fill lights). The 50mm lens I borrowed from dad is coming in really handy (WYSIWYG).
Here’s a small collection of photos I took in the past 2 weeks:

I like it! =)
RAW is the only way to go man… It’s hard on the storage but the flexibility is amazing…
