I’ve been listening to Switchfoot since 99, when a hall mate of mine handed me a copy of their New Way to Be Human album. I’ve been listening to all their albums since.
LL likes their music a lot too, so I bought her a ticket as well. I met a pleasant surprise when I found out one of my cell group members was a big time fan. He’s in his early 40s, and he sort of stood out in a crowd of youngsters, but man… he’s really into the band.
After the concert, we went to Dome’s and chilled out over coffee and a meal, and talked about music, F1 and church worship. This cell group member of mine’s quite a nice guy… I felt we clicked, although we hadn’t before. It was just one of those things, cos I feel isolated in the cell group at times, being the only one around my age, besides LL.
Thanks, Switchfoot, for making a trip down to KL. It was really memorable, and your music feels so much more alive when you’re there.
