The Myth of the Corporate Ladder

I haven’t been in the workforce all that long - at least not as long as my parents have, and they’re still adamant on not retiring so soon. But I don’t think I need to be working for someone else any longer to realize that there’s no such thing as [...]

ipod clickwheel defect

ipod clickwheel defect
Originally uploaded by jaremfan.

I found this surprising - a clickwheel that was installed 90 degrees off its intended position. This is a 80gb ipod classic. The clickwheel works as was intended (the << button operates the menu function, etc.), just that the placement was incorrect.
I found it at a Apple reseller [...]

Khunthai Thai Restaurant

Tomyam and kangkung belacan
Originally uploaded by jaremfan.

I found a really good Thai restaurant in PJ in Section 5, near PJ Old Town and Jalan Gasing. It’s right behind the park (that hosts a bird event every weekend) that’s adjacent to the Templer roundabout . There weren’t many reviews on it, so I decided [...]

Dad bought me a lovely Canon 400D body for my birthday recently (Thanks, Pa!).
I’ve been shooting quite randomly - at plates of sushi, ceiling lamps, people, friends. I really like it. It’s a lot more 21st century than the Nikon FM that I loaned from my dad years ago.
I’m [...]

My 29th Birthday

I must thank my wife for organizing and paying for a weekend trip up to Genting Highlands. Even though we didn’t play the rides and gamble our life savings away, we still had a lot of fun.
It was dearly misty up there, and she seemed to like that [...]

Busy week - karaoke, bowling, futsal, and The New Pornographers

He loves me not
Originally uploaded by Nylons and Cake.

There seems to be no end to busy-ness for me. But I should stop saying that. Every week has been different, each with its own surprises.
I really can’t remember anything before Wednesday. All I know is that on Wednesday, we left office straight after work [...]

Black Canyon Coffee for Malaysia

Originally uploaded by Ian Fuller.

I’m quite a fan of Bangkok, Thailand. I must make mention one of its derivatives - Black Canyon Coffee, which has recently appeared in some Klang Valley spots. I just got back from the one at Summit, USJ, with LL.
She reported the pad thai isn’t as good as the [...]

No control over the bus of life

Originally uploaded by Astrid..

I’m managing a mood that’s half empty this weekend - I’m already groaning the one day left of this ‘long’ holiday.
It’s one of those days where you think holidays give you back control over your life, but it becomes very short-lived.
The thing about holidays is how you don’t want to [...]
