We have found an apartment for a fairly good price in Islington, complete with a garden patio, separate kitchen and bathroom, ample room, with a landlord who is just a gem. We really couldn’t have asked for a better deal. At the same time, the letting agents at Relocate-Me were such great help and friendly [...]

I’ve started yet another blog, Interaction, to journal my experiences with the MSc program as well as interaction design and its related subjects. I wanted to do this to focus all the overwhelming amount of information I am consuming right now, from books, people, observations and thoughts. London is a great place to do this [...]

UCL quadrangle 2, originally uploaded by spkennedy3000. I am dead tired from being out the whole day, but I just had to satisfy my curiousity and find out what the big deal ISOP was all about. I’m glad they separated graduates and undergraduates because otherwise it would have caused a massive traffic jam and people [...]

I’ve just managed to get wireless working with the home broadband over here, after hours of messing around with Vista, the TalkTalk modem, and my Dlink wireless router. Things haven’t been going all too smoothly, and being unable to connect to the internet via my laptop has been too irritating. Now that I finally have [...]

what’s in my bag / flickrversary, originally uploaded by superlocal. 3 suitcases. 60kg. 1 knapsack. 1 camera bag. 1 ladies’ handbag. I’m not sure I can fit the September issue of Topgear. I heard it’s got a review of the latest Ford RS (300bhp in a 2L engine?!). I’m going to miss my GHM [...]

Dance till your feet can’t touch the ground, originally uploaded by Sara Crowe?!. LL got up this morning and checked on the VFS website and it said our application was ready to be picked up. We weren’t sure what to expect, but I’m glad we arrived just in time before the visa processing centre closed. [...]

I just got two emails in this format below, which I did not before when our visa got rejected. Does this mean that our visas have been approved? We were thinking approvals take longer to process, and so far this round has been a longer waiting period. Let’s hope it’s gone through okay. And let’s [...]

I just got done watching Episode 1 of TopGear’s Season 5. It was entertaining, no doubt – it’s got great storytelling, visuals, and of course, cars. But while I was watching it, I couldn’t help but ignore this nagging feeling at the back of my mind that the time spent watching the show wasn’t ever [...]

Visa Re-application and farewell We have resubmitted our application to the British high commission. We scrutinized (scrutinised) our application until we had no practical reason to reject us, but they still might. Fingers crossed, we put it in anyway. The last time, it took the high commission 3 days to give us a result. “That’s [...]

Our UK visa application got rejected yesterday, on the grounds of insufficient proof of sponsorship. We made a mistake and misunderstood what the application form was trying to say. I guess it didn’t help that our situation was relatively unique. We should have gone to see the British Council for help from the start. It [...]
